Education Matters. Here's my single favourite reason.

Posted by the Sprout's mom Though I've always believed that public education needs to be protected, it's even more important to me now.

What has the Bean Sprout been up to?

It's been a busy few weeks in the Bean Sprout's household. She'll be three weeks old tomorrow, which is hard to believe. The days bleed together, just as I was told they would. We've been experiencing some feeding challenges, which has absorbed a lot of our time, so I haven't done much blogging. Nonetheless, I have to be responsive to the emails from friends and family telling me that they are checking the blog and wanting new content. So, what has the Bean Sprout been up to the last few weeks? Lots of firsts! Meeting her grandparents for the first time: Grandma and Anju IMG_0051.JPG First time in her car seat: IMG_0094 First time in the car: IMG_0127.JPG First time in a stroller: IMG_0148.JPG First trip to the library (since her folks are big on reading): IMG_0347 First time in her cloth diapers: IMG_0151.JPG First time in a swing: I've been acting as her booking agent as folks have made an effort to come by and see the Bean Sprout at our house. Everyone wants to have the chance to hold her. And, of course, she's had lots of cuddling with her parents: IMG_0310 IMG_0119 In a nutshell, that's what the bean has been up to! Stay tuned...

The bean, having a well-deserved nap the morning after being born: The morning after her birth

Our bean has sprouted!

Born at home on Nov. 30th just after 10pm, our little one weighs in at whopping 8.5 lbs. Here's our first family picture: IMG_0041.JPG Right before the midwives left. I'm pretty exhausted at this point: IMG_0040.JPG Proud new daddy: IMG_0038.JPG Getting weighed: IMG_0033 copy Getting examined: IMG_0034.JPG IMG_0031.JPG Still pretty tired, but we're quite smitten with her. Special thanks to the four amazing midwives who helped bring the bean into this world. We deeply appreciated it.
